Directory policy
Effective November 5, 2026
Our two tiers
Verified means a confirmed public studio address or checked current body-art license/facility permit. Listed means a public professional source names the artist or studio, but verification is incomplete. Listed contact details are withheld. Contributors are separate and have no tier badge.
Inclusion
Artists mainly practise Polynesian or Pacific tattoo work. Known home-based tattooists are never published without a verified license on file. Social links must clearly belong to the artist or studio. Public-source listing is not a quality rating, endorsement or judgement of cultural authority.
Claims and verification
Artists may claim profiles and submit evidence privately. Reviewers check studio addresses and current licenses or permits, consulting an issuing authority’s public register where one exists. Verification documents are deleted 30 days after a decision.
Corrections and removal
Request corrections or removal through the directory form. We fulfil valid removal requests within 7 days and may request additional information to confirm authority or identify the error. Corrections are reviewed against evidence.
Weekly review
We review the directory weekly. A listing may change tier or be hidden if evidence becomes inadequate or information is disputed.
